Description:

BeriCos EUK 134 is a synthetic manganese salen-type complex (INCI: Ethylbisiminomethylguaiacol Manganese Chloride). It mimics two of the skin’s antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase. Unlike classic antioxidants, which are consumed as they react with radicals, it works catalytically and can neutralise many molecules of reactive oxygen species. Intended for antioxidant and protective cosmetics.

• Mimics superoxide dismutase activity, breaking down the superoxide radical.
• Mimics catalase, breaking down hydrogen peroxide.
• Works catalytically – it is not used up in a single reaction with a free radical.
• Supports protection against oxidative stress and premature ageing.

Applications: Antioxidant serums, protective day creams, anti-ageing products and cosmetics for skin exposed to pollution and sun.
