Frequently asked questions

+

What cosmetic raw materials does ViaKosmo distribute?

ViaKosmo distributes raw materials for skin and hair care, colour cosmetics and oral care. The range includes active ingredients and PDRN (triNbio, BeriCos, Brother Enterprises), SiCare silicones (Hunan Silok), Koel Colours pigments, lakes and dyes, UV filters, vitamins and ferment filtrates. Raw materials are grouped into subcategories by function, which helps formulators quickly compare grades, INCI names and applications.

+

What should I look for in a cosmetic raw materials distributor?

The key criteria are full documentation for every batch, access to samples, technical support during formulation and clear information on the manufacturer and INCI of each raw material. For a cosmetics manufacturer, batch-to-batch consistency and quick answers to regulatory questions matter too. ViaKosmo provides technical data sheets and quality certificates for each batch, samples and support from technologists, from concept through to industrial scale-up.

+

What raw material data is needed for a cosmetic product safety report?

A safety report under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 mainly needs the INCI name and composition of each raw material, the specification and batch certificate of analysis, the safety data sheet, impurity data and toxicological information or references to safety assessments. Restrictions in Annexes II to VI also apply. It is best to collect these documents from the supplier during development, before the formula is approved.

+

What is an INCI name and why does it matter when buying raw materials?

INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) is the international name used to declare an ingredient in the list on cosmetic packaging. When buying, it lets you compare raw materials from different manufacturers, check regulatory restrictions and prepare the label. The same INCI name does not guarantee identical quality, though: raw materials differ in purity, origin and specifications, so always compare the technical data sheet and certificate of analysis as well.

How do I request samples and a quote?

Send an enquiry through the form on this page, email sales@viakosmo.pl or call +48 88 66 78 955 to request samples and a quote. Give the product names or INCI, the intended application and an estimate of the volume, and you will receive information on availability and terms. Many items are held in stock. Delivery terms for companies outside Poland, including other EU countries, are best agreed in the same enquiry.

Does ViaKosmo help with formulation and scale-up?

Yes. ViaKosmo technologists support customers with formulation, from choosing raw materials for a product concept and setting use levels and compatibility to transferring the formula from lab to industrial scale. This is especially useful when introducing newer ingredients such as PDRN, delivery systems or silicone elastomers. To use this support, describe your project in the form on this page or in an email to sales@viakosmo.pl.

Does ViaKosmo supply raw materials for colour cosmetics and household products?

Yes. Besides skin and hair care raw materials, the range covers colour cosmetics ingredients, including pigments, lakes, dyes, silicone resins and elastomers, as well as a separate home care section with dyes, rheology modifiers, polymers and solvents. A manufacturer working across several product categories can therefore source raw materials from one supplier and streamline documentation and purchasing.
