BTi™ SD - silica and dimethicone treated titanium dioxide

INCI:

Titanium Dioxide (and) Silica (and) Dimethicone

Manufacturer:

ShieldBiso

Description:

BTi™ SD from ShieldBiso is a physical UV filter in which titanium dioxide nanoparticles are coated with silica and dimethicone. The surface treatment improves dispersibility of the TiO2 in oil, while the particles reflect and scatter radiation to protect across UVA and UVB. The dimethicone-treated grade fits bases that contain silicones – sunscreens, daily protection products and BB/CC creams.

  • Broad-spectrum UVA+UVB protection through reflection and scattering of radiation by TiO2.
  • Dual coating of silica and dimethicone, a hydrophobic linear polydimethylsiloxane.
  • Surface treatment improves dispersibility in oils and in silicone-rich phases.
  • Inorganic, photostable filter for formulas relying on mineral protection.

Applications: Sunscreens, daily UV protection emulsions, BB and CC creams.

  • Composition: Titanium Dioxide (and) Silica (and) Dimethicone – for addition to the oil or silicone phase.
  • Contains nanoparticles – in the EU the finished product must show “(nano)” after the ingredient name.
  • Recommended use level and dispersion parameters are given in the TDS; our technologists can help adapt them.
